Grassfield Radio Control Club, LLC.<\/span> is an Academy Model Aeronautics (AMA) chartered club, #1405. Grassfield RC Club Membership requires<\/em>: AMA Membership<\/strong><\/a> (not Park Flyer), FAA DroneZone Registration<\/a><\/strong>, and completion of the FAA Trust Test<\/strong><\/a> (approximately 35 questions-You can’t fail<\/em>).\u00a0Failure to register with the FAA and complete the Trust Test can result in substantial civil penalties and jail time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cFailure to register an unmanned aircraft that is\u00a0required to be registered<\/a>\u00a0may result in regulatory and criminal penalties. The FAA may assess civil penalties up to $27,500. Criminal penalties include fines of up to $250,000 and\/or imprisonment for up to three years.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

AMA provides the liability insurance for the club, and for our individual members. This applies to all members.\u00a0 AMA membership is based on a rolling calendar year.\u00a0 It is your responsibility to keep your AMA membership, insurance, and FAA Registration up to date.<\/span><\/p>\n

Grassfield RC memberships are based on the calendar year Jan 01-December 31st. Member renewal deadline is March 31st of each year.\u00a0 Failure to renew by March 31 will require a New Member initiation fee.\u00a0 New members joining after September 30th will be valid into the following year.<\/span><\/p>\n

New members are required to complete an initial check-out involving regulation and rules review as well as a flying evaluation to ensure flying competency<\/strong>. Grassfield has a number of instructor pilots. These members will work with you as instructors to help you understand all the ins and outs of model aviation, and to help ensure you learn to fly competently and safely. Just like full scale aviation, most people find flying model aircraft more challenging than they initially expect. With the help of one of our instructors, we will help ensure your success and enjoyment in this amazing hobby.<\/p>\n
